How do I prevent a subscription from auto-renewing?
Posted by Jordan S. on 16 October 2011 10:49 PM

If you want to prevent a certain subscription from auto-renewing, start by making sure that you do not have any credit cards on file that are set to allow auto-payments. This is done within the main control panel at: https://hsp.viux.com/cp/ - [My Account] tab - [Payment Methods] icon. Therein, select each card on file, click the [Edit] Button, remove the check beside "Use this payment method for recurring payments", and then click the [OK] Button.

The second step is to return to the [My Account] tab and then select the [Subscriptions] icon. Therein, select the desired subscription(s), and then click the [Renewal Settings] link. Change the subscription to "Do not generate renewal orders automatically" and save the change. That subscription will then NOT renew unless you do so manually by clicking the [Generate Renewal Order] link. Do not select "Generate renewal orders automatically. I will pay them manually" unless you have also disabled your credit card for auto-payments as described above.

Please note that if the renewal order for a subscription has already generated prior to your taking the above action, you may need to cancel the existing renewal order to prevent auto-renewal, if you have a credit card on file for your account that is still set to allow auto-payments (see the article "Subscription Renewal Terms and Automated Billing" for a chart showing each renewal period and more information in this regard).
