MAC FTP issue: FTP "hangs" entering "Passive Mode"
Posted by J.T. Smith on 30 October 2012 09:32 PM

For best security of our network, we do not support "Passive" FTP connections, as Passive FTP attempts to use ports other than 21, and we only allow FTP connections on this port.

However, even after disabling Passive FTP for "Active" mode, some MAC customers still report failure when trying to make a successful FTP connection. Those MAC users on our network that were able to resolve this issue, did so by going into [System Preferences] - [Security] - [Firewall] and enabling the option for "Allow all incoming connections" or "Set access for specific services and applications" (Recommended), and then set your ftp client to "Allow Incoming Connections".
